Chase The Lure
More Than Just a Game
Our mobile lure coursing is such a thrill—it’s a purpose-driven outlet designed to enrich your dog’s body and mind. Dogs are hardwired to chase, problem-solve, and move with purpose. Lure coursing taps into these instincts, providing a safe, controlled outlet that supports both physical and neurological health. It enhances coordination, sharpens focus, and releases unspent drive—key factors in reducing anxiety, reactivity, and unwanted behaviours.
A common myth is that chasing activities create hyper or prey-driven dogs. In reality, the opposite is true. Scientifically, when dogs engage in species-appropriate activities, they experience a drop in cortisol (stress hormone) and a rise in dopamine and serotonin—neurotransmitters that promote emotional regulation, calmness, and learning. Denying these outlets can actually increase reactivity, frustration, and poor impulse control over time.
Fulfilled dogs are easier to train and more content overall.
When dogs are regularly fulfilled through natural outlets like this, obedience training becomes easier and more effective. Without these releases, solely focusing on obedience can lead to stress, shutdowns, and even behavioural regression—what looks like “good behaviour” can actually be suppressed instincts waiting to erupt.
As a certified trainer, I believe in innate training—meeting the dog where they are naturally, then building structure from that foundation. Over time, we begin incorporating obedience commands into these outlets, and the results are phenomenal: faster learning, better engagement, and deeper trust.
We carefully control speed and direction, making this activity safe and beneficial for puppies, seniors, and dogs at every stage of fitness.
We also ask that you don’t feed your dog or overfill them with water beforehand—a light stomach supports safe movement and helps prevent gastric dilatation-volvulus (GDV), or bloat, a serious risk when dogs engage in physical activity too soon after eating. Light, fasted movement supports muscular engagement, core control, and reduces injury risk.
